07.02.2626 at 17:24Disappointing Experience – Poor Management and Questionable Practices
While the premises are good and there are one or two kind, professional teachers, our overall experience was unfortunately very disappointing. The core issue lies in poor management, which severely undermines both the quality of care and trust with families.
Children’s Wellbeing Is Not the Priority
From our experience, the management’s focus is more on profit and control rather than genuinely caring for the children. Teachers and parents are pressured into compliance, and any questions or concerns are unwelcome.
Extremely High Staff Turnover
There is a shockingly high turnover rate. In just three months, my eldest child had three different teachers in the Kita group, and the crèche group experienced similar instability. This inconsistency is deeply unsettling for children and disruptive to their development.
Unreliable Service Due to Understaffing
In our six months there, the daycare was reliably staffed for only about half the time. On multiple occasions, we were asked to keep our children at home because there simply weren’t enough caregivers. This unreliability caused significant disruptions to our work and life.
Financial and Administrative Mismanagement
Expect frequent issues with payments, reimbursements, and general bookkeeping. Errors were common, and we were always under the impression that a 4-year old was managing book-keeping.
Unacceptable and Unprofessional Behavior Observed:
1. From the initial interview, management discouraged us from asking questions, creating an atmosphere of secrecy and defensiveness.
2. They went so far as to use our children’s citizenship to pressure other parents into “behaving”.
3. We witnessed teachers handle children aggressively—covering mouths when they cried, yelling, and neglecting visibly distressed children.
4. One incident involved our children being left crying and soaking wet for over 30 minutes without explanation.
5. Drop-off times were treated with unnecessary drama and rigidity.
6. The directors often displayed bullying behaviour and lacked empathy for family circumstances. It seemed that her only aim was to make parents’ life harder and that seeing the children coming to the daycare was a burden to her.
7. I often heard one of the directors making comments about myself in German, thinking that I did not understand the language, which is very unprofessional and rude.
8. Emails seeking help or clarification went unanswered unless it was something management wanted to communicate.
9. One staff member, a former kitchen helper turned teacher, behaved in a hostile and irrational manner in an incident when “accusing” my daughter of “stealing” decorative ribbons from the classroom after the party they had that day. Super wired behaviour. She always gave me the impression she had mental health issues.
10. We were falsely accused of picking up children that weren’t ours. No formal apology or explanation followed—only an oral admission by a teacher that it was a mistake.
11. Across the board, staff behavior ranged from rude and uncivil to unprofessional and dramatic and through talks with other parents, I learned that most of them are unhappy with the service.
________________________________________
Conclusion:
We have experienced multiple daycare centres across 3 major cities, in 3 different countries and 2 continents but have not seen anything like this.
Despite the few good individuals working there, the systemic issues, poor leadership, and repeated neglect make this daycare deeply problematic.
We do not recommend it to any family who values genuine care for children, professionalism, stability and transparent communication.
