Our 15 month old son was offered a place for this coming June. The administration lady that offered the place was lovely on the phone and sent us over the paperwork to fill out. We filled out all the paperwork work and sent it back as requested. She confirmed she received all the paperwork except for the voluntary donation form that requests €230 every month. We rang her up and said that we did not wish to join the donation as it was an exorbitant amount of money to request monthly and that we had no problem paying something like €20 but not the amount she requested. She then proceeded to become extremely aggressive and said that every parent paid the €230 and that we would be the only ones not paying. We then asked would she be revoking our son’s place as we would not be paying the money and she just proceeded to say again that everyone paid the money. This bullying tactic of requesting voluntary money from parents is completely illegal ( we confirmed that this was illegal with Cologne city council). We rang up the next day and said we would not want our son in an aggressive establishment that bullies desperate parents into paying money into a “voluntary” group. Avoid this place at all costs.
